what an ace shot, this should be called lost, because the ball looks lost :P

Thank you!

And I probably didn't think of that because the ball was mine and I knew exactly where it was - a foot and a half away from me in the slightly overgrown grass :P

Same here!

Photography here is difficult in winter, for two reasons... short days, and even at the brightest time of the day the sun isn't all that high, and it's cloudy about 85% of the time (no exaggeration - I haven't seen the sun in a week).

It feels very summery, though, backyard cricket, the tennis ball hit into the spare block next door, lost in the grass.

Nice job getting down low too. :D

It's funny... I actually took this last summer, and just stumbled on it yesterday and thought... hey, that's kind of a cool shot...

It is. I wonder who it belongs to...

I like what this photo makes me think of. I remember when I was a kid and it was always cool to find abandoned stuff on the grass or on the street, an old ball, a record, anything. This could also be baseball you lost in a game, maybe because you hit a home-run and won the game or maybe because this was the ball you didn't catch.

I like how the baseball matches the colours of the enviroment in a very subtle way. There is a small portion of green on the top that matches the trees and the red lines go along with the grass.

the only "bad" thing I see on this pic is that it's too small. The baseball isn't badly placed, but I think that with a little more of grass to the sides the picture would have a better feeling. It would resemble the feeling of finding in a better way.

Thanks!

And it *was* bigger, but then I noticed that it was slanted, and to straighten it out I had to then chop out more of the sides. :/

Aww, sort of reminds me of the long lost ball that got thrown over the neighbour's fence... Great photography, well done!
